What are Pleated Shades? A pleated shade is a single layer of fabric material that is pressed into crisp pleats
where the end result is an accordian looking material when viewed from the end. The fabric is made of 100% polyester and
has a scotchguard coating. It has a headrail at top that the fabric is secured to and it's also where the mounting
brackets attach. The fabric is attached at the bottom to a color coordinated bottom rail which also adds weight to make
for easy lifting and lowering. There are at least two lift cord strings (depending on width), they are threaded through
holes drilled in fabric and they are used for raising and lowering the shade. The shade has a heavy duty cord lock mechanism
mounted in the headrail so the shade can be stopped at any desired height.
Pleated shades are ideal at providing light filtering control to a room. The blackout pleated shades even take this a
step further and allowing for the total blackout of light into the room and is great for bedrooms or television rooms.
