1. Rotate the chain so that the chain connector is on the bottom. If the chain is longer than your window sill then proceed to step 2 otherwise skip to step 4.

2. Unhook the chain connector and lift one end up to where the chain will loop and fit completely within the window opening by a couple inches.

3. At the point you found in step 2, cut the chain.
|
4. With the chain unlocked from the chain connector, thread the chain through the hold down bracket and reconnect the chain ends with the chain connector.

5. Fasten the hold down bracket to the inside of the window sill so that there is a slight amount of slack in the chain.

6. Rotate the chain so that the chain connector is positioned against the hold down bracket. Now attach the shade and roll it from a fully open position to where it is closed (All the way down).

7. With the shade completely down over the window place the ball lock on the chain so that it can not be pulled down farther than this position.
